Position Description
The Senior Reservoir Engineering Tech under the direction of the Reservoir Engineering Manager is responsible for maintaining and updating data stores associated with such related items as production history.


In this role the Senior Reservoir Engineering Tech:

  •  Develops tools with pertinent software applications such as Spotfire, ARIES and IHS Harmony
  • Assists in calculation of allocated production volumes in all fields
  • Assists in running AFE economics for new drill wells
  • Maintains flowback data flow from field to database in Houston
  • Ensures data flow from multiple sources into ARIES for use by Reservoir Engineering team
  • Organizes and maintains well and field data information
  • Improve process efficiencies such as eliminating time intensive manual spreadsheets and creating streamlined automated data tools.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and develop reports as required by engineers and management.
  • Serves as integral technical support member
  • Coaches and mentors less experienced staff

Qualifications / Required experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent combination of education, technical training and work experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the oil & gas industry, with knowledge and understanding of onshore operations
  • Proven teamwork, interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic team environment
  • Experience using the Microsoft suite of products; including MS Access, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint & Project
  • Knowledge and experience in technical applications such as ARIES and Spotfire
  • Knowledge and experience in SQL, specifically querying data for export and analysis
  • Solid organizational skills; ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks with high attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and learn/use new applications quickly
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate fully as part of a multi-disciplined team
  • Flexibility to adapt to a changing environment and work assignments
